What if the Soviets won the Cold War: Part five, the peaceful war

Yanayev's new plan for the destruction of the NATO allies was different than his predecessor. Whilst Malenkov planned to destroy NATO militarily, Yanayev planned to militarily crush the USA, Yanayev planned on destroying their economy to the point of either communist control or total civil war. When he got sworn in by the Supreme Soviet, Yanayev immediately announced a 2 billion dollar increase in the military budget. This then meant that the Kenedy administration, already struggling with a debt crisis, now had to take out lots more money to match the communists. Not only that, but the Soviets announced on March 10th, 1971, that before the year ended, the communists would create a permanent manned military base on the moon by 1980. Now Kenedy had to promise the same, right before the new election.            The 1971 war between Hindustan and Pakistan led to a quagmire, leading to a four-year-long war, resulting in the Pakistanis losing East Pakistan, and the region of Kashmi

What if the Soviet Union won the cold war: Part four, Troubles in the land of the free

With the election of the hard-on communism Richard Nixon, the United States finally decided to finish the space race. However, on  July 3rd, Yuri Gagarin was the first man to set foot on the moon, claiming, "For all man everywhere, a better world shall be achieved". He planted a Soviet flag, a picture of Lenin, and a copy of the Communist Manifesto, he and his colleagues Vladamir Komarov, and Valentia Tereshkova collected rock samples, recorded data, and left after a two-hour expedition. The entire landing was recorded and shown throughout the world. Every worker in the Soviet world had a day off, and there were parades throughout the entire soviet union. The three cosmonauts were seen as heroes, and all three received the joint metal of Lenin. In NASA however, the response became, "how do we one-up this".     Meanwhile, there was a crisis in Spain. The unpopular Fransisco Franco was leading a disgruntled Spain. A disgruntled Anarchist shot Franco five times, once

What if the Soviets won the cold war: Part Three, A new Chairman, a stronger Union

After fierce deliberation, the Supreme Soviet decided upon Georgy Malenkov to replace Ioseph Stalin. This choice fiercely upset the Western allies, as Malenkov was just as militaristic as Stalin. The new Eisenhower administration held the first peace discussion in the cold war, the talks, however, didn't go anywhere.  Malenkov and Eisenhower both wanted to get rid of nuclear weapons, but neither one initially wanted to start the program.      The pan-Arab movement resulted in a new republic in 1956, that of the pan-Arab union, a combination of Syria and Egypt. This new nation was a revolutionary socialist state and would ensure the USSR and its allies a steady supply of oil. This angered the Americans immensely, which tried a coup against Al Farouk, its leader. This went nowhere, and he gave the Eisenhower administration an ultimatum, apologize (with monetary concessions), or the new union would join the Warsaw pact. Eisenhower allied, and the new union, now emboldened, dec

If Germany Won World War I (Part 1: A World at War)

The year is early 1918, and Germany has just beaten the Russians on the eastern front after the Bolsheviks took over the current Russian government, making it communist. Germany could now focus on the Western front, and it was confident that it would win the war. Britain and France were freaking out, and the American reinforcements were far away. Welcome to World War I!     Germany needed a decisive victory before the new American troops reached the front line. Since they had a massive manpower advantage over the Allies, the German battle strategists came up with a plan to hit the Allies where they were weak. On March 27th, the German forces rammed into the French and British forces near Soissons. Without the American reinforcement, the Allied troops crumpled like a tinfoil ball. The Germans advanced toward Paris, and more troops poured through the hole in the frontline. By the time the Allies sealed the hole, it was too late, and a massive German army was already attacking Paris

What if the Soviets won the cold War: Part Two, The new world incumbent

The brand new era for the world could be as the ink dried on the treaty of Kyoto. People thorough the west cheered in the streets, as millions of men returned home to their families. But nowhere could the sound of marching bands and cheers be heard louder than in Red Square. Thousands of tanks, Katyushas, and rocket launchers paraded in straight lines as artillery and fireworks could be heard for miles. A three hundred man marching band lined the streets, floats, and banners being seen, praising the glory of communism, the USSR, and Ioseph Stalin. Stalin gave a thirty-minute-long speech, about the people's sacrifice, the strength of the military, and the power of global communism. It would seem as though everyone in the world was at peace, but the truth was, everyone was gearing up to prepare for the creation of a new world order.     The administration of the new communist states was harder in some areas than others. In Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia, and Hungary, the communist

What if the soviets won the Cold War: Part one, Final Victory

As an American born after 1991, it is often quite difficult to imagine the Soviet Union and the threat it presented through the western world. Yet, for 72 years, the communists in the east tried desperately for the destruction of western capitalism, democracy, and individualism. For this alternate history, the fork in the timeline will be in 1944, as the war was being turned for the USSR and Ioseph Stalin.     With the influence of stormy weather in the channel, as well as a greater commitment for german spies in American offices and the navy being intercepted in Plymouth, operation overlord was an abject failure, with around 70% of all troops being killed in action. The red army, strengthened after the battles of Kursk and Minsk, faced a severely weakened Wehrmacht, pushing all the way to Berlin by 1945. The Americans, finally succeeding in an invasion of Brittany and securing all of Italy by February 1945, could finally say they contributed to the war effort. With the Palermo con
